Create Task 1                                                  Back to the beginning             Next . . .

Tip: If you have several similar tasks to create, such as a group of faucets, create a base task then clone it . It will have all the base parts so all you need to add is a primary part or two. See "cloning" for more info.

A task (procedure, job) is merely a Stock Code that "owns" a group of parts. At the bottom of the "Stock Code Information" window is a check box that says "Container" which should be marked. This will indicate that the Stock Code is a "Task."

Note that UpFrontPrice.Com tasks use an alpha/numeric numbering system. New tasks should also follow an organized system so you can keep up with them.

You might write out your sequence before you begin creating tasks.

Use the "Notes Field" for task descriptions. Primary tasks will include the descriptons in the price book. Add-on tasks omit the description.

The Category controls what section of your price book the task will print in.

The Sub Category designates whether the task is an Add-On or whether it prints in an additional section in the price book.

Use the drop down lists for the categories.
